Job Description

[s]Cube Inc. is a Technology Services company located in Schenectady, New York. [s]Cube Inc. provides technical delivery in the areas of Land Management, Licensing, Permitting, Case Management, Code Enforcement, and Asset Management. The [s]Cube team is seasoned in innovative IT delivery and is comprised of project/delivery managers, business architects, technical architects, agile developers, and cloud specialists.

The Sr. Technical Consultant position will work with our software delivery team to implement the Accela Automation Software platform for [s]Cube clients across the country. The position will set, drive and document client requirements meetings, and will consult with clients on the implementation of appropriate workflows and automations, relying on experience and on Best Practice Templates. The Consultant will document required deliverables in a detailed work tracking system and work in this system daily to provide updates and work details. Projects are driven out of this tool using an Agile/Scrum based approach.

Daily client meetings, regular check-ins and status reports, in-depth client requirements discussions, detailed user acceptance testing meetings, are all part of the day-to-day activities required in the position. Up to 50% travel may be required based on client projects and needs.

The successful Consultant is engaged with clients daily, proactively driving the project, understanding client needs and expectations and driving technical delivery teams to meet or exceed those expectations, while escalating for assistance when required. Project status reporting in conjunction with technical and project management resources is critical. On larger projects consultants will typically design solutions based on client needs, and document required work in requests for technical teams to execute on. However, it is expected that consultants will also perform hands-on work configuring, scripting, testing, data conversions/migrations, documenting requirements, drafting technical specifications and developing reports.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience
  • 3-5 years of work experience consulting on Accela based projects, with proven and referenceable customer contacts.
  • Proven ability to perform hands on Accela based record development activities, including configuration, workflow designs, fee implementations, reports and more.
  • Proven ability to extend the Accela platform and event-based functionality through JavaScript based script development.
  • Excellent SQL knowledge to enable scripting and reporting functions in Accela.
  • Experience in defining requirements and conceptualizing solutions on related projects or work assignments
  • Exposure with Agile development methodologies
  • Perform thorough interviews with project stakeholders to develop requirements and design
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other stakeholders or team members to resolve issues
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Strong facilitation, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
